This briefing addressed several questions regarding the Yugoslav conflict: how can the warm criminals be held personally and individually accountable for their actions, what role should the United States play in achieving that goal, and what will be the ultimate cost of failing to achieve that goal?
Witnesses testifying at the briefing – including Tom Warrick, law partner of Pierson, Semmes, & Bemis; Norman Cigar, Professor of National Security Studies for the U.S. Marine Corps School of Advanced Warfighting; and Iain Guest, Senior Fellow of the United States Institute for Peace – focused on the progress made for the Yugoslavia War Crimes Tribunals and the developments of the Dayton peace agreement, especially regarding its human rights elements.
