Representative Richard Hudson, North Carolina

Congressman Richard Hudson is serving his third term in the United States Congress representing North Carolina’s 8th Congressional District. As a member of the Helsinki Commission, Commissioner Hudson is committed to combatting religious persecution and anti-Semitism, preventing human trafficking, tackling terrorism, and promoting economic cooperation and free speech.

Commissioner Hudson has the privilege of representing Fort Bragg, North Carolina—the largest U.S. Army installation in the world. As the voice for this critical installation in Congress, Commissioner Hudson works to advance military security, enhance cooperation, and promote stability and democracy in the OSCE region.

Congressman Hudson regularly represents the United States at the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (PA), which facilitates inter-parliamentary dialogue among the participating States. He currently chairs the OSCE PA Committee on Political Affairs and Security and serves as a vice-chair of the OSCE PA Ad Hoc Committee on Countering Terrorism.

Congressman Hudson also co-chairs the Transatlantic Parliamentary Group, a transatlantic caucus that includes members of the U.S. Congress and the European Parliament and aims to assess international security threats, economic crises, and social issues.

In addition to serving on the Helsinki Commission, Congressman Hudson serves on the powerful House Energy and Commerce Committee. He is committed to working across the aisle to find bipartisan solutions to create jobs, cut spending and keep the United States secure, and he has demonstrated that can be done without compromising core principles.

Congressman Hudson lives in Concord, North Carolina with his wife, Renee, and son, Lane.
