Joe Wilson (SC-02) issued the following joint statement: "Alcee Hastings was a giant in foreign affairs, knowledgeable on all issues relating to security in Europe. As the only American to serve as President of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe's Parliamentary Assembly, he led that organization in cementing its members' commitment to peace, security and human rights.
