With passage of the American Disability Act (ADA) of 1990 the U.S. government established new legal standards to ensure equality of opportunity to people with disabilities in this country.
The U.S. Helsinki Commission largely influenced Russia and other OSCE member states to adopt similar language and policies to that of the ADA.
The hearing will depict what more the U.S. can do to combat the issue of disability discrimination.
