HELSINKI COMMISSION VIDEO PROMOTES MULTILATERAL APPROACH TO SECURITY
Commissioners, Experts Call for Strengthening the OSCE
WASHINGTON— The 56-country Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) should be strengthened to continue to serve as a vital tool to improve international security, according to a video released today online by the U.S. Helsinki Commission.
Released on the heels of a Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe (U.S. Helsinki Commission) hearing on inter-ethnic conflicts, this video focuses further attention on security concerns as the U.S. Senate considers ratifying the New START treaty and following the OSCE’s successful diffusion of violence in Kyrgyzstan.
